1. Wiess Towers
2026

Wiess Towers idealize an extension of Wiess’ culture through the implementation of seven towers that align with the inside perimeter of the college. This project is formatted with the intent to stimulate intersections between new architectural additions to Rice while also paying homage to existing buildings and infrastructure.



2. Precedent: 23 Dwellings
2024

Through a detailed analysis of the 23 Dwellings complex, the project highlights the importance of adaptability and connectivity in collective housing. The architects’ emphasis on creating spaces that residents can personalize underscores a modern approach to urban living, where flexibility and community are prioritized. The building’s design not only responds to its dense urban surroundings but also redefines the traditional apartment typology by blending private and shared spaces seamlessly.





3. Equilibrium
2024

Through numerous reconfigurations and consistent testing, our exploration focused on the bending moment induced by compressive forces. We aimed to eliminate horizontal supports by designing a plywood plane with strategically placed holes and slits along its perimeter. These openings served dual purposes: they utilized friction to stabilize the structure and provided anchor points for a tensile element, such as rope, to ensure equilibrium.





4. Vassar Vistas
2024

Located in Houston’s Montrose neighborhood and adjacent to the iconic Vassar Apartments, designed by Howard Barnstone, this new complex draws inspiration from mid-century modern design while introducing a contemporary exploration of collective housing through the L-module. 





5. Galena Park Urban Study
2025

Our project examines how Galena Park reached this point and explores ways to restore balance among people, industry, and nature. By restoring wetlands, rethinking drainage, and designing spaces that work with water instead of against it, we can help the neighborhood become stronger against floods and healthier for the community. 





6. Prairie Plots
2023

Prairie Plots is a living installation on the Rice University campus that envisions an alternative to the ubiquitous mowed lawn. From urban parks to suburban front yards, the mowed lawn is a fixture of American culture. Maintaining the appearance of cropped, homogenous, green grass, however, can be detrimental to people and the environment: irrigation systems are water-intensive, pesticides are toxic, and gas-powered lawnmowers emit noxious fumes.





7. Salk Institute Study
2023

This project delves into the architectural theories and design principles of the Salk Institute, a renowned laboratory and cultural landmark designed by Louis Kahn. Through a detailed precedent analysis, the investigation highlights Kahn’s exploration of the "served versus serving" concept, a defining feature of his work.
